This song, inspired by Jeff Buckley’s sound, was written as an exploration of the different phases of dealing with heartbreak and betrayal. It starts off more fragile and ambient, and then turns up the rock n’ roll and gets into the angrier, bluesier sound, complete with a chorus written to be wailed, for the same reason people started wailing in music in general: to express emotions too intense to approach any other way.
